We've almost reached the middle of 2017 (already!) - yes that's right, June is here. We're hoping the rain will clear off soon, but here are some shows we'd recommend if you're looking for a fun activity to enjoy without getting wet!

1. Helen Mort & Dan Richards - Tuesday 13 June

“Because they’re there?”  Is this the answer to the eternal question: why do people climb mountains? Poet Helen Mort and author Dan Richards bring a new perspective to this question by exploring the exploits of largely forgotten, pioneering female mountaineers.

2. Sean Kelly - Wednesday 14 June

A night of stand-up comedy and a charity auction with star of Storage Hunters, Sean Kelly, the ever-smiling, ever-shouting auctioneer. Audience members are encouraged to bring along a cheeky item from home, to be auctioned off, with all proceeds going to Help for Heroes.

3. While the Lights Were Out - Wednesday 21 - Saturday 24 June

One of the most astounding and hilarious murder mysteries ever staged. Every clue is a lulu and the plot twists furiously - the final solution involves the most bizarre motive ever conceived! This delightful evening of mayhem gallops madly about the stage and will leave you breathless with surprise and laughter.

4. Threaded Album Launch - Thursday 22 June

Threaded are releasing their second album, Fair Winds and Following Seas, and would love you to join them for their launch party! Performances by Jack Cookson: BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award Nominee 2016, and Phil Theharp: Local Singer-Songwriter will also feature on the night.

5. The Last Revolution - Friday 23 - Sunday 25 June

Supported by Unite The Union and Derby LIVE, Big Adventures Theatre Company have written a brand new musical which tells the story of the people at the heart of the last recorded revolution in England. A story of love, of honour, of brotherhood and betrayal. This production marks the 200th Anniversary of the Pentrich Revolution and also forms part of Big Adventures’ 20th Anniversary season.

6. Silver Darling The Musical - Tuesday 27 June - Saturday 1 July

A tale of a poor fishing community on the Yorkshire coast in the years just before World War Two. Britain is still trying to recover from a huge depression, times are tough, and for everyoneFinding it hard to make ends meet, the villagers struggle to keep their businesses afloat. No fish, no money!
