We are excited to announce that we will be holding Adam Peaty’s Freedom of the City reception on Sunday 9 October at 3.30pm. Members of the public will be able to attend the event and gather outside the ceremonial entrance of the Council House.

There will be music available from 3.30pm with the ceremony and freedom of the city presentation commencing at 4pm, which is expected to last approximately 30 minutes. It will begin with presentations to the City of Derby Swimming Club, including presentations to coach Mel Marshall and Paralympian Lewis White, who received a bronze medal in S9 400m freestyle at the Rio Paralympics. The event will culminate with the granting of the Freedom of the City ceremony for Adam Peaty.

As part of the presentations Royal Crown Derby gifts will be presented to Adam Peaty, Lewis White, Mel Marshall and representatives from the City of Derby Swimming Club for their contribution to coaching swimmers in the City.

Come along and celebrate the successes of our talented athletes.
