Derby Arena will transform into a theatre for Aladdin

Derby Arena transform into Theatre for Derby LIVE Christmas pantomime Aladdin 2015

Wed 14 Oct 2015

For this year’s all-star family panto Aladdin, we will be transforming Derby Arena into a unique theatre venue within the Arena’s infield space. It will have a bigger seating capacity and a larger stage than any previous Derby pantomime venue.

Pantomime goers coming to see Aladdin will find themselves walking into a black-walled, fully-functioning theatre with state-of-the-art lighting system and a stage the size of a 25m swimming pool.

Those attending will be treated to amazing pyrotechnics, special effects and even flying carpets. The layout will also mean that the audience will be able to, for the first time ever, see the live band and will enjoy the show from forward facing seating!

Alan Cohen, the director of Aladdin said;

I am delighted to be directing the first major show in Derby’s stunning new arena space. PHA have a strong reputation for producing traditional pantomimes in the most spectacular way and this brilliant venue will add further sparkle to an already star studded big entertainment show.

This years panto features an all-star cast including Atomic Kitten’s Natasha Hamilton as Slave of the Ring, The Only Way is Essex star Dan Osborne as Genie and 5ive’s Ritchie Neville as Aladdin.

The cast also features Derby favourite Mike ‘Squeaky’ McClean as Wishee Washee and CBeebies’ Swashbuckle Richard David-Caine & Joseph Elliott as PCs Ping and Pong.

Aladdin runs from Mon 7 Dec – Sun 3 Jan, and remember if you book by 31 October you will save £2 per ticket!
