Derby Folk Festival was brilliant!

Derby Folk Festival

Wed 9 Oct 2013

We had a great time at Derby Folk Festival last weekend and the Assembly Rooms, Guildhall Theatre and Market Place were alive with a fantastic festival atmosphere.

The fringe events were enjoyed by everyone and the dance teams really made their mark on Derby City Centre, jingling their bells, waving hankies, wowing with fancy footwork and stopping shoppers in their tracks with colourful costumes.

We had an amazing response on twitter and Facebook, here's a few comments we'd like to share with you:

Trudi Mayo posted on Facebook
"not sure where to start... we loved every minute of the weekend, especially the Derbyshire Volunteers, Cupola-Ward and without a doubt Les Barker, thank you one and all"

"My head is full of incredible music. Can't get over how good @DerbyFolkwas this year. Discovered new artists, revisited old, sang lots."

"Thank you @DerbyFolk and @DerbyLIVE and all the fantastic artists from near and far for a fab weekend. Roll on next year!! #lovefolkmusic"

Also if you haven't seen it yet Elly Lucas did a fantastic job in media corner all through the festival and filmed some great interviews with some of the artists playing. You can check out all of the interviews here.

The wonderful Graham Whitmore was also roaming around the festival taking pictures of everything going on, check out his flickr gallery here.
