JUST ON SALE: The Beekeepers & Jesus Jones, a one off spectacular...

Wed 19 Jun 2013

Arguably one of Derby’s greatest bands, The Beekeepers, have teamed up with the legendary Jesus Jones for a one-off gig at the Assembly Rooms on Fri 15 Nov.

Both bands will play a full set, with additional support and surprises soon to be announced.

The Beekeepers (Jamie East - vocals, Gary Thatcher - guitar, Steve Bailey - drums, Mark Simpson - bass, Kev Lamb - guitar) were signed to Beggars Banquet records in the 90s, releasing 4 singles and an album and were renowned for their incredible live shows before their split in 1998. After over a decades silence, they reformed for a one-off gig in 2011 at The Bell - this proved to be an itch they couldn’t stop scratching.

Jesus Jones (Mike Edwards - vocals, Iain Baker - keyboards, Jerry De Borg - guitars, Al Doughty - bass, Tony Arthy - drums) need no introduction, but here's one anyway. They were pioneers of the 90s Indie Dance invasion, culminating in worldwide hits such as Info Freako, Real Real Real andInternational Bright Young Thing. They've toured the world many times over, including Wembley Stadium with INXS and are quite simply, one of the best live bands, like, EVER.
