The 2015 Derby Folk Festival was a roaring success!

Derby Folk Festival 2015 success

Fri 9 Oct 2015

The 2015 Derby Folk Festival has been a run-away success with thousands of you attending, and events happening in more venues than ever before! The ninth Derby Folk Festival took place last weekend from Fri 2 – Sat 4 Oct and festival attendees were treated to headlines acts Eddi Reader, Kathryn Roberts & Sean Lakeman, Faustus, and Melrose Quartet

Across the weekend, over ten thousand people enjoyed a variety of acts, in what you've described as the best ever line-up, which included national and international folk stars playing to a packed out marquee on the Market Place.

For the first time, the Derby Folk Festival took place in more venues across the city including centuries old The Old Bell Hotel and the Derby Cathedral. The various sites across the Cathedral Quarter were the perfect setting for the festival.

In addition to the musical acts the Derby Folk Festival was supported by an assortment of street performances from dance and fringe acts such as Boggarts Breakfast and Frumptarn Guggenband. The craft fair was once again a huge success with an array of interesting stalls that attracted over eight and half thousand visitors.

The ninth Derby Folk Festival was supported by several key partners including Cathedral Quarter Derby, St Peters Quarter Derby and Thornbridge Brewery which helped make the festival such a great event... We're pleased to let you know that next year's Derby Folk Festival will take place between Fri 30 Sep - Sun 2 Oct 2016!
