Amateur Community
Derby LIVE believes that the amateur sector is vital to the theatre ecology of Derby.

Amateur translates as ‘for the love of it’. The Eagle Awards celebrate, promote and recognise this love and the wonderful array of theatre it produces each year.

Derby’s amateur theatre community has requested that Derby LIVE facilitates a maximum of one workshop per annum for each respective amateur theatre group. These will share best practice and assist skills development. We will also provide amateur technicians with accredited training in technical areas such as lighting, sound and technical stage management.
