About the event

Lots of people get them; bad dreams, swirly tummy, feeling prickly. And sometimes they make you feel alone. So, what can a young child with a bad case of the dragons do?

Dragons come when you least expect it. You turn round…and they’re there.

Based on the popular children’s story, this delightful tale of one child’s journey to come to terms with their dragons is a treat for the whole family. With live, original music, this highly visual, sensitive production is a humorous and touching exploration of the dragons we all face.

A show for all ages and especially those with visual and hearing impairments, You’ve Got Dragons features creative captioning, interwoven British Sign Language and audio description.

And remember… No dragon is more powerful than YOU!

Free craft activities in the Guildhall Foyer between 12 noon -2pm

Reviews

The show was mesmerising.

I have more to say...As a teacher for 20 years in a mainstream fully inclusive school I sought to bring access of interest and understanding into every lesson of everyday. Everyone of us is different Taking Flight's ambition seems to be making sure that no-one gets left behind.

I brought my 12 yr old & a friend & her 10 yr old who is struggling with getting to sleep due to dragons. As someone who has experienced anxiety since the age of 8 when it was never acknowledged, or understood, I found it very moving to see that your show could help children articulate the things I have often struggled with. Such a very powerful thing. We went for coffee afterwards, chatted about it & I know my friends children went home, drew & named their dragons. I loved the coping strategies your show suggested and the physical representation of the anxiety / panic through movement was spot on. I hope the show and workshops continue to be well supported, providing valuable information for many more families & children with anxiety. Thankyou x

Thank you so much! There was a sense of relief in the air and it was a bouncy walk home! I truly believe that everyone should see this play. Catrin (mum of 4) xx
