The Assembly Rooms
Please note that the Assembly Rooms is not a fixed seated venue so the seating may change depending on the performance.
The balcony is not accessible by lift. Please ask for more details at the Box Office at the time of booking.
The Assembly Rooms has 2 auditoria - The Great Hall and The Darwin Suite and can be adapted to accommodate a wide range of seated events.
The Great Hall is the larger of the two and has a maximum seated capacity of approx 1200 in a concert format. The ground floor seats approx 600 including a fixed retractable tiered section to the rear seating 200. The balcony area upstairs has fixed seating for a further 600, but is not accessible by lift.
For rock concerts the lower floor can accommodate 1400 with no seating, with a further 600 seated upstairs.This room can be adapted for conferences/exhibitions and dinner dances.
The Darwin Suite has no fixed seating, but has a maximum seated capacity of 300 with a small stage. For events requiring a larger stage the capacity can be reduced to suit.
For rock concerts this room can accommodate 500. This room can be adapted for conferences/trade fairs and dinner dances.
Derby Theatre
The Derby Theatre has a fixed, tiered seating capacity of 535 in the main house. A purpose-built modern theatre, the venue is light and airy with an on-site box office, toilets, coffee shop and bar.
Derby LIVE will put on 22 weeks of produced and 12 weeks of presented theatre each year. It also available to hire for 10 weeks of the year, for concerts, shows and amateur productions.

The Guildhall Theatre
The Guildhall Theatre is a small and intimate theatre situated opposite the Assembly Rooms with raked seating for 182 patrons downstairs and a small balcony area seating a further 60.
This theatre is predominantly used by amateur theatre groups and Derby LIVE produced theatre in addition to hosting folk, comedy, children's, jazz and touring theatre events.
