About the event

This event is promoted by Sinfonia Viva, Derby LIVE are pleased to act as a ticket agent.

The East Midlands only professional orchestra right on your doorstep and in the grandest of settings.

This fabulous wind performance is sure to put a spring in your step. Featuring some of the most beautiful wind arrangements we could find, these performances are lightly and emphatically powerful in their subtle sweeping movement.

This drive time performance will also feature the rare opportunity to see Sinfonia Viva’s own Principal Conductor Duncan Ward playing piano during the performance of the Poulenc piece.

This early evening concert will have you tapping your feet to the rhythm of these naturally ethereal instruments, in the atmospherically orchestral Derby Cathedral.

Poulenc            Sextet for Wind Quintet & Piano Op.100

Ward                Hopscotch for Wind Quintet

Plus other Wind Quintet repertoire

‘In association with Orchestras Live and supported by Arts Council England and Derby City Council.’
