Performers

Peashooter

Peashooter formed two years ago, when three musicians found themselves with nothing to do on Monday evenings. Justin Monkton, John Adams and Paul Grainger, having previously performed together in different line ups, decided that an old fashioned covers band whose primary goal was arranging an eclectic collection of songs into a cohesive and structured sound would give them something to do before going to the pub!

Their repertoire is gathered from the past fifty years of rock and pop and any genre is considered ‘fair game’. Consequently classic tracks by The Beatles, Blondie, Bowie, and Abba, come together with tracks from Thin Lizzy and Motorhead, to deliver an exciting musical performance.

Kezia Gill

Kezia Gill is a local singer/songwriter from Derby and who has been performing professionally for over 10 years. She has performed all over the country and recently returned to Derby after a 6 year stint gigging in Lanzatote. Last year Kezia Gill was signed to Nottingham based record label, Cubit. Earlier this year she wowed audiences at the grand opening of Derby Arena.

Health and Safety

BBQ's are not allowed on the park, due to the fire risk however there will be food and drink stands at the event. Fireworks, sparklers, open flares, candles or Chinese Lanterns are also not allowed onto the park and will be confiscated. Animals should also not be brought onto the park during the event. Derby LIVE asks visitors to consider the weather conditions, wear sensible footwear, clothing and bring a torch.

Access

Entrances used at previous events will all be available including on the A38, at Markeaton Island and off Markeaton Lane.
This year there will also be two additional entrances to the event, one on Kedleston Rd opposite Derby University car park via the Mundy Play Centre, the second on Ashbourne Rd opposite Prince Charles Avenue.

Mundy Play Centre car park will close from 2pm and those using the car park during the day should ensure that their vehicle is moved by 2pm. Markeaton Lane will be closed to all vehicles between 2pm and 9pm, to allow safe access for pedestrians.
Markeaton Lane will be used by the Emergency Services for exiting and accessing the park between 2pm and 9pm.
There are limited spaces for blue badge holders to park on Markeaton Park main car park. Further spaces are available at The University of Derby on Kedleston Road. Blue badge holders will be able to park free of charge.

Latecomers

To avoid disappointment it’s advisable to plan enough time to get into the park. From 5.15pm there will be no access to the event at the A38 Queensway Footbridge entrance and the footbridge will be closed. Pedestrians will be directed to the entrance at Markeaton Island and are requested to respect the instructions of the stewards.

Exit

The exit at Queensway next to the footbridge over the A38 will be managed by event Stewards and a queuing system will be in place. For everyone’s safety stewards will be giving instructions to members of the public leaving the event.
Alternative exits are available at the rear entrance of the park via Mundy Play Centre and onto Markeaton Lane, both providing access to the University Car Park. The Mundy Play Centre exit will be managed by event Stewards and a queuing system will be in place. This is for everyone’s safety.

There will be an advisory speed restriction of 30mph and temporary traffic lights operational on Ashbourne Road. The exit will be managed by event Stewards and a queuing system will be in place.
