About the event

One of Britain’s most popular comic writers, best selling author, radio and TV personality, Gervase Phinn, makes a welcome return to Derby.

Dubbed the “James Herriot of Schools”, Gervase will have you in stitches with more of his hilarious tales of life as an HMI Schools Inspector in the Yorkshire Dales.  He has written a wide range of short stories and is nationally known for his three best selling novels, The Other Side of the Dale, Over Hill and Dale, and Head over Heels in the Dales.  Gervase has appeared on numerous TV and Radio Shows, and Ester Rantzen describes him as “a real star with a wonderful gift of storytelling”.

Gervase Phinn has a gentle and warm wry sense of humour, making his show of good clean humour - unmissable!
