About the event
Derby's popular annual International Women's Day Festival returns an extra special Suffragetteinspired ‘Rebel Women’ theme.
The uplifting, multicultural festivities will include live performances, drumming, inspiring workshops, HERstory exhibition, stalls, arts & crafts, foodie feasts and family fun.
Join the festivities to celebrate, participate and liberate at this event which has a HERstory going back over 100 years in our city & county.
This feel-good event is organised by local volunteers for all the community to enjoy. FREE entry, donations appreciated.
All genders and all ages welcome.
The festival will be sheltered by a huge marquee and offers live performances, food and gift stalls, inspiring hourly workshops at QUAD, arts, sports and science taster activities and family fun. Visitors can explore 40 stalls highlighting good causes, local women’s enterprise, local services, support groups, the Human Library and an exhibition on women’s history.
This year the festival will have a special Suffragette Memorial March in the city centre as a finale leaving the Market Place at 4pm. A commemorative festival magazine will also be available including inspiring stories and poems from local women and girls.
