About the event

Fe Fi Fo Fum... Join us again for panto fun! Starring Cheryl Fergison (EastEnders and Your Face Sounds Familiar) as Spirit of the Beans and Marcus Collins (X-Factor finalist) as Jack.

And Mike 'Squeaky' McClean (Derby LIVE panto favourite) as Simple Simon and Don Maclean (Crackerjack and Songs of Praise) as Dame Trott.

Poor Dame Trott is down on her luck and her daydreaming son Jack is no help at all. When Jack is sent to market to sell their beloved cow Daisy, he comes home not with money – but a handful of beans! But things aren’t always as they seem and soon their luck is on the up and up.

Packed with everyone’s favourite pantomime characters, this enchanting and spellbinding tale combines jokes galore, fantastic dance routines and lots of audience participation - all of which make our pantomime a festive family favourite.

What the press said

"The opening certainly grabbed the audience's attention and, from that point forth the evening sped along at a ripe old pace, its smart and lively script featuring some refreshingly new jokes, alongside the traditional pantomime humour we all know and love..."

"...With snatches of circus entertainment, a 'real' giant, a deliciously evil Fagin-style villan and a gorgeous cow called Daisy how can it fail to win our hearts?"

 Audience Comments

"I saw Jack and the Beanstalk at the Assembly Rooms and it was brilliant. Simple Simon was really funny. He and the King did this scene where they decorated the giant’s castle, and they made such a mess!

Then Simple Simon spoke to some of the boys and girls. He gave them all funny voices and he pretended that one of the mums needed a wee!

Dame Trott was really good too and had a great singing voice. All the singing and dancing was good.

I’m going again with my school on Thursday, and I can’t wait!"
