About the event

Growing old is inevitable. Growing up is optional

It's the most unexpected things that rekindle the unique bond between brother and sister. An ageing parent is one. Alzheimer's is another. But 'Life is too short'. There's new places to go and new people to meet. And new discoveries to be made - not least between brother and sister and their family experiences, past present and future.

Home is where your parents are. No matter where you fly – that ‘homing instinct’ applies. Rosie and Jed are both in their sixties.
A lot of water has flowed under the bridge since they shared bunk beds as children. And squabbled. And competed for Mum and Dad’s attention. Jed was Rosie’s ‘Best Man’ at her wedding – and her soul mate when she divorced. And now fate finds them back at home together once again. The thing about sibling rivalry and unity is that it knows no time restraints. Brothers and sisters might grow older – but they seldom grow up.

New Perspectives return with the winning entry of their 2014 Long Play competition directed by Theresa Keogh. We invite you to share Jed and Rosie's revelations in Tim Elgood's funny and poignant play about growing up, growing old and a lifetime of rediscovery.
