This performance runs for 60 minutes with no interval
Running Time: 1 hour - approximate, including any interval(s).
About the event
Take a trip with Sinfonia Viva and re-imagine folk music in a melodious and eclectic journey for the soul.
Opening this year’s Folk Festival, these performances feature pieces that weave their way through folk history, including Dvorak's American String Quartet that combines his love for his homeland and its Czech folk tradition, with his fascination with the American folk heritage. Tchaikovsky and his folk inspired and lyrical music is justly famous for its haunting and Slavic sounds and finally Zoltan Kodaly, who devoted his life to compiling Hungarian folk music. His music ranges from mysterious soundscapes into rustic peasant dances.
With a new take on this timeless musical art form, these folk inspired string selections are guaranteed to live long in the memory.
