About the Event

Derby’s Annual Remembrance Sunday Service and Parade will take place on Sun 13 November

Derby’s Annual Remembrance Sunday Service and Parade will take place on Sun 13 Nov, with troops from the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers 148 Divisional Support Company, as well as members of local veteran and youth organisations, parading through the city centre.

A short service will take place after the first part of the parade on Corporation Street, during which a two-minute silence will be observed at 11.00am. Following this, wreaths will be laid at the War Memorial before the parade finishes.

Members of the public will be able to view the proceedings from designated areas and on screens positioned in the Market Place and outside the Council House.

The beginning of the two-minute silence will be signalled by a maroon. Maroons are explosive devices, similar to fireworks, which create a loud bang.

Parking will be available at the Chapel Street multi-story car park. The Assembly Rooms multi-story car park will be closed from 8am on 13 Nov. Parking bays on Full Street will also be closed from 8pm on 12 Nov.
