Our friends Donington Park and Music Plus Sport are excited to announce that the one and only ALED JONES will be hosting and performing at Donington Live.

Aled will host the event alongside mezzo soprano LAURA WRIGHT, Britain’s Got Talent winners COLLABRO and the chart-topping MILITARY WIVES CHOIR will be joining already announced Midlands-based Orchestra SINFONIA VIVA at Donington Live on Sunday 4 September 2016.

As well as a day of fantastic entertainment, a magnificent finale firework display and family fun, the open-air event will have food for all tastes and budgets available to purchase with a mix of picnics, hot cultural food and street food stalls.

Laura Wright

With over a million album sales under her belt, Laura Wright is one of the biggest selling classical artists this decade. Since her debut album The Last Rose went to No.1 in the UK Classical charts, Laura has enjoyed many performances at prestigious venues such as Royal Albert Hall, Buckingham Palace and Wembley Stadium. A royal favourite, HM The Queen cited Laura’s Diamond Jubilee Song Stronger As One in her Commonwealth Day Message at Westminster Abbey and was also the first to perform at the opening ceremony for HRH Prince Harry’s Invictus Games.

Collabro

Winning Britain’s Got Talent in 2014, Collabro have since had a whirlwind of success both in the UK and internationally. Signing to Simon Cowell’s Syco Music, their debut album Stars hit the No.1 spot in the UK charts, beating Ed Sheeran in the process and at the time being the fastest selling album for a debut act. Their 2nd album, Act Two, charted at No.2 beaten only by Florence & The Machine and saw the band undertake a massive sold-out headline tour of the UK, including a show at the Royal Albert Hall.

Initially built from the success of TV show The Choir: Military Wives with Gareth Malone, whereby one of the very first choirs clinched coveted top spot in the hotly contested race for Christmas No.1, the Military Wives Choir has now blossomed to over 75 choirs across the UK. Formed of wives, partners and service women of British Military personnel, each choir creates a valuable network for women in the military community to come together to sing in a fun and supportive environment. Having topped the charts with their debut single Wherever Your Are, the choir featured on Gary Barlow’s track Sing with the Commonwealth band and most recently featured on Lulu’s single Cry.

Roger Lowe, Commercial Director at Donington Park said:

"We’re very excited that Laura Wright, Collabro and Military Wives Choir will be playing Donington Live on 4 September. The open-air event is sure to be a highlight for the region and welcoming these three world-class acts will be the cherry on top of a fantastic day for all the family. Keep an eye out as we have a very special guest still to be announced!"
