The Darley Park Weekender - resident information

We regularly review our practices for events on Darley Park to minimise disruption to residents. This information details some the plans we have in place for before, during and after the events.

Contact and hotline to Event Control

If you have any questions, concerns or need any additional event information in advance or on the event days, please do not hesitate to contact us at derbylive@derby.gov.uk

Hotline to Event Control during the event period

We have setup a hotline for local residents and businesses to connect you directly with our Event Control team during the event days if required. Should you have any comments or concerns, please contact us on this number straight away so we can provide assistance. Please don’t delay in getting in touch if we can help in any way.

Our operators will take details of the request / complaint and contact the appropriate team or contractor to action a response. You will be given a unique reference number.

The hotline number is 01332 640240.

Community Response Team

During the event we will also have a Community Response Team which includes event management, traffic management and security stewards who are able to respond to any issues we see or are identified by the local community.

Noise management

A noise management plan has been implemented for the events to minimise the impact on residents not attending the events and sound levels will be within those permitted for an event of this nature. Noise levels are regulated and monitored by our on-site team during the event days.

A sound propagation test will take place on Friday 30 August between 10am until 12 noon and sound checks and rehearsals will take place from 12 noon on each event day.

Recorded music will be played once the gates open until the first act comes on stage.

Pyrotechnics

There will be a pyrotechnic display on Sunday at approximately 9pm for a maximum duration of 15 minutes.

Traffic management

During the event, there may be an increase in vehicular and pedestrian traffic around the event area. We encourage you to plan accordingly and allow extra time for your journey if necessary.

Resident letters will be sent out in July with more information. We recommend carrying the resident’s letter with you whilst driving in the local area, as stewards will be briefed to allow local access.

We have worked in conjunction with Derby City Council Highways Team and Derbyshire Police to implement a traffic management plan for your safety and that of other residents. The aim of this is to minimise disruption to you and maintain access into Darley Village for emergency service vehicles.
