About the Event

JLS are heading to Darley Park for an 'Outta This World' Saturday night. With Appleton and Chesney Hawkes.

Get ready to party as British boy band icons JLS take to the Darley Park stage! Fresh from their massive 16-date 2025 arena tour, Aston Merrygold, Oritsé Williams, JB Gill, and Marvin Humes are heading to Derby to make your Summer 2026 unforgettable.

Since their 2008 breakthrough on X-Factor, JLS has dominated the charts with massive hits like Beat Again,Everybody in Love, She Makes Me Wanna, and One Shot.

Performing alongside JLS, is Appleton. It’s been over 20 years since Natalie and Nicole Appleton performed as a duo, and nearly five years since they last toured with their band All Saints. Appleton will perform with their band, delivering a pop masterclass featuring their signature Appleton hits plus a couple of All Saints classics and a fun cover or two.

After playing Ultimate 90s in 2024, Chesney Hawkes returns to Darley Park. Chesney became one of the biggest pop stars of his era with his irresistible mega-hit ‘The One and Only’ which is officially one of the top 20 most successful songs of the 90s. His song writing style mixes classic ‘kick the doors down pop/rock bangers’ with a heartfelt, candid style of songwriting.

Mark Angels will be back with two sets for our Saturday night, bringing his unique energy and floor filling tracks which has proved popular at previous Darley Park Weekender events’.

Joining the line up local band Cassette Roulette, will be ensuring a party atmosphere, playing music that people want to get up and dance to.

Opening the night are Derby-born indie/alt-rock band The Public Eye. They’ve carved out a raw, evolving sound that stands firmly on its own. A standout representation of the city’s rising talent.

Getting here

We encourage eco-friendly and active travel options like walking, cycling or using public transport where possible.

The main event entrance is by the river footpath, with signs in the park to guide you.

If you are coming by taxi, the drop off/pick up point is at Parker’s Piece Car Park (101 City Rd, Little Chester, Derby DE1 3RP). This is a 13 minute, 0.6mile walk to the event entrance.

Parking

A bike parking area is located outside the event entrance (bikes left at your own risk).
Limited pre-booked car parking is available at Deans Field for £10 per car (accessible via Darley Street).
Off-site parking options are also available at Chapel Street, Darwin Place and other city centre car parks
Pre-bookable Blue Badge holder parking is available at Darley Street car park, Poplar Row, Darley Abbey, Derby DE22 1DU. Visit The Darley Park Weekender Access page for information on the accessible entrance.

Entry and security

The on-site box office, located near the entrance, allows collection of pre-purchased tickets and purchases on the day (subject to availability).

Gates close at 9pm on Fri, 9:30pm on Sat and 9pm on Sun.

Please arrive early to ensure enough time to go through the search points. Please read the 'What you can/cannot bring to the event' sections further down to see what can and cannot be brought into the events. Security will search you and your bag upon entry, including the use of search wands. You could also be searched once you are in the event.

Security personnel will be present both inside and outside the event for your safety. CCTV cameras will be in place to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. We collaborate closely with police and emergency services for a secure event. There will be police patrols around the event and local area. If you see something that doesn’t look right, let a member of security or the police know straight away.

What you can bring to the event

For your safety and to help security checks run as smoothly as possible, please bring only essential items to the event. Travelling light will help you access the site more quickly so you can start enjoying the event sooner. 

Only assistance and guide dogs are allowed
One small bag per person (maximum size: 45cm x 25cm x 20cm)
One camping chair or blanket per person for seating - only in designated areas, for safety.
Prams or pushchairs for small children & babies are allowed, as are wheelchairs and specialised pushchairs or mobility aids for older children and individuals with additional needs. We are committed to ensuring accessibility for all attendees. Food & drink
Food and drink (including alcohol) will be available to buy at the events - card and cash payments are accepted.

Within the permitted bag size (45cm x 25cm x 20cm), for personal consumption, you can bring:
- food
- sealed soft drink and water non-glass bottles/cartons (up to 500ml)
- empty plastic/metal bottles/flasks (up to 1L) for refilling at free cold and hot water stations
- alcohol, only as follows:
  - Friday or Saturday – no alcohol can be brought into the events
  - Sunday – limited alcohol allowed into the event:
    - four unopened cans of beer/cider/wine/premixed spirits per adult
      OR
    - sealed plastic bottle(s) of wine/prosecco/champagne - up to 75cl per adult
  - Challenge 25 is in effect. Be prepared to show a valid photo ID (passport, driving license, or PASS ID) at the entrances and inside the event when purchasing or drinking alcohol.
- No glass items permitted, including glass bottles and drinking glasses.
- If you need to bring prepared baby milk or formula in unsealed containers, you may do so. This will be subject to routine security checks at the entrance.

You cannot bring any of the following to the event

Glass or ceramic items (including bottles, glasses, cups, jars, etc)
Knives or cutlery (except wooden and plastic)
Trolleys or other wheeled cases
Hampers or cool boxes (cool bags are allowed within the specified bag size limits: 45cm x 25cm x 20cm).
Barbecues (including disposable barbeques and camping stoves)
Medication, unless recognisable or accompanied by a doctor’s note or prescription.
Flags, flag poles, large umbrellas (1 metre or more), selfie stick
Shelters (tents, gazebos), kites and tables
Bikes cannot be brought into the event area – a bike parking area is located outside the event entrance (bikes left at your own risk).
Flammable items (flaming torches, fireworks, candles, lanterns, etc).
Generators, spray cans, aerosols, smoke or gas devices/canisters/cylinders.
Sound systems, megaphones or air-horns.
Weapons, dangerous items or lasers.
Unidentifiable substances or illegal drugs.
Aerial vehicles/devices (drones).
Zoom lenses or professional filming equipment.
Unauthorised merchandise, including any goods using unauthorised event logos or unofficial tabards, unauthorised reflective jackets.

Any items left at entrances or confiscated will be disposed of and cannot be returned upon exiting the site.

the event will not be cancelled unless there's a health and safety risk.

Additional, terms and conditions for this event:

No re-admission once you leave the event.
For safety reasons, and to ensure the comfort of those attending the event, the management reserves the right to reduce the overall footprint of your chosen seating area.
Darley Park is open to the public except for the event area.
