I'm thrilled about the 50th Anniversary celebration launch of the Derby and District Astronomical Society at Alvaston Park's mesmerizing Star Party. This collaborative event unites communities for an engaging evening under the stars, blending astronomy, arts, and science.
This fantastic event goes from strength to strength each year, and in its 14th year continues to bring communities together to enjoy the world of astronomy in a fun and active way.
The event is a partnership between Derby City Council’s Parks Team and Alvaston Park Friends. There is a mixture of indoor and outdoor activities, so visitors are advised to wrap up warm, wear appropriate footwear for outdoors and bring a torch.
