FAQ on Outdoor Event bookings during Covid-19

Q. Have any events been cancelled?

A. All events on Derby City Council property have been cancelled up until at least the end of Aug 2020.

Q. Will the events affected be rescheduled?

A. The Derby LIVE Outdoor Events Team, are working hard to reschedule the affected events where possible.

Q. Can I make an event booking?

AYes the Derby LIVE Outdoor Events Team are all working from home to be on hand and support event organisers, however we will not be taking any new bookings until later in the year.

Q. Can I get a busking license?

A. At present Derby City Council will not be issuing or renewing busking licences for the foreseeable future.  

Q. Can I apply for a street café?

A. We are introducing a streamlined process for applying for a St Cafe's. This process is based on a government bill that is currently going through parliament. If the bill is successful we will update this FAQ to inform on how to apply so watch this space.

Q. Can I apply for a road closure?

A. Yes you can apply however we will not be able to confirm any road closures that are attached to events on Derby City Council land during the current situation.

Q. Where will I find out what events have been affected?

A. See the news story on all events on our news pages.

Q. Can I apply for a Filming Permit?

A. Yes you can apply however we will not be able to confirm any filming permits on Derby City Council land during the current situation.

Q. Can I make a booking for a Promotion Stand in the City Centre?

A. At present, we are not booking promotion spaces in the city centre.  Customers enquiring to book promotion space will be added to a waiting list and contacted once the booking process commences. 

Q. Can I make a booking for Direct Debit Collections in the City Centre?

A. At present, we are not booking direct debit collections in the city centre.  Customers enquiring to book promotion space will be added to a waiting list and contacted once the booking process commences. 

Q. Can I enquire about holding a Political / Religious gathering in the city centre?

A. Derby LIVE will refer enquiries to police.

Q. I have a stall booked at an event which is due to take place in the summer which I need to pay for. Can I pay for it over the telephone or online?

A. We will contact all stallholders individually about their individual payments.

Q. Can I organise a litter picking event on a Park?

A. All events on Derby City Council property have been cancelled up until at least the end of Aug 2020. If you are interested in organising a litter picking event in the future, please e mail spacehire@derby.gov.uk and we will add your contact details to our enquiry list.
