As we near the end of 2024, we look towards what 2025 has store, we find that we have a whole host of music that  takes us on journey through the decades. So, if you are ready to relive the magic of past decades join Derby LIVE on a nostalgic trip through the greatest hits of the 50s, 60s 70s, 80s, 90s, and 00s in 2025.

The 1950s and 60s were particularly revolutionary, with the rise of rock and roll. Elvis Presley, the 'King of Rock and Roll,' captivated audiences with his rebellious energy and groundbreaking music. His influence on popular culture is still felt today. While Elvis might have been the ‘King of Rock ‘n’ Roll’ by the late 50s early 60s the ‘Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll’ Tina Turner had begun her epic career. Appearing alongside her then husband Ike, they became described as ‘one of the most formidable live acts in history’ Releasing songs such as Proud Mary, River Deep – Mountain High’. The 70s were a decade of musical experimentation and iconic bands. Rock music reigned supreme, with legendary groups like The Eagles and ELO captivating audiences with their soulful melodies and innovative sounds.

The Eagles Known for their harmonious vocals and storytelling lyrics, The Eagles produced timeless hits like Hotel California and Take It Easy. See the critically acclaimed  The Illegal Eagles brand new production on Fri 11 Apr at Derby Arena.

ELO Blended rock, classical, and pop elements, ELO created a unique and orchestral sound with songs like Mr. Blue Sky and Evil Woman. The outstanding tribute ELO Again will be at Derby Arena on Sun 2 Nov.

The 80s saw a vibrant explosion of pop music, with catchy tunes and flamboyant fashion.

Whitney Houston with her powerful vocals and soulful ballads, Whitney Houston became a global superstar with songs like I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me) and I Will Always Love You. Relive her greatest hits  Queen of the Night – A Tribute to Whitney Houston at Derby Arena on Fri 12 Mar.

Bananarama. This iconic trio brought infectious energy and pop anthems like Venus and Cruel Summer.

Buck Fizz now known as The Fizz are known for their synchronized dance moves and upbeat pop hits like Making Your Mind Up and Land of Make Believe.

Haircut 100 This British band captured the spirit of the early 80s with their new wave sound and songs like Love Plus One and Fantastic Day.

DJ Gary Davies has worked at both BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 2, Gary and established himself as the authority on 80s music. Over his careers he helped discover and champion many acts offering mainstream support to U2, Chris Rea, Deacon Blue, Tears for Fears and Simple Minds.

The 90s showcased a diverse musical landscape, from grunge and hip-hop to pop and dance music. Ultimate 90s is the perfect trip back to the decade that gave us double denim and some great pop anthems.

Joining the Ultimate 90s line up are some of the best 90s pop icons.

Heather Small: This British singer-songwriter became famous for her powerful vocals and anthems like Proud and Moving On Up.

East 17: This British boy band achieved success with their soulful R&B and pop hits like Stay Another Day and House of Love.

911: This British boy band took the world by storm with their catchy pop tunes and synchronized dance moves, including hits like A Bit of Luck and All I Want Is You.

Damage: This British R&B group topped the charts with their smooth vocals and hits like Gotta Get Thru This and Wonderful Tonight.

Ultimate 90s is at Darley Park on Sat 30 Aug.

The 00s were dominated by pop music, with artists like Taylor Swift emerging as major forces in the industry. If 00’s Pop Princess Taylor Swift is one of your favourites, but you missed her recent tour, then join us for Taylormania.

Taylor Swift: This American singer-songwriter captured hearts with her relatable lyrics and catchy melodies, including hits like Love Story and Shake It Off. Taylormania is at Derby Arena on Thu 10 Apr.
