An evening of music and entertainment featuring renowned folk singer Lester Simpson is being held in Derby this September.
With peace at its heart, the event, which is opened by Sue McFarlane who actively campaigns for a more peaceful better world is sure to be enjoyed by many.
Having performed at previous peace concerts, Sue who is an excellent local musician always amazes audiences with her incredible voice. She is set to wow the crowds once again, this time at the St Peter’s Centre in Derby.
Headlining the event is Lester Simpson a choir leader, singer, songwriter and musician. He is most widely known for his work with acclaimed a cappella trio ‘Coope Boyes and Simpson’.
As a choir leader for various choirs throughout Derby and Derbyshire, Lester is a song writer who was described by Mojo magazine as an exceptional song writer. The peace concert offers the rare opportunity to see Lester perform in an intimate setting. Lester will be accompanied by enjoyable sounds of the Peace Through Folk Choir.
Supported by over a dozen local groups, this is the second Derby Peace Concert, with all profits going to Derbyshire Refugee Solidarity.
The concert is on Sat 21 September at St Peter’s Centre, Derby and starts at 7pm. An early bird ticket price of £12.00 is available when bought by Sat 7 September. Tickets bought after will be the standard price of £15.00. Tickets are available to purchase from the Sales and Information Centre and online.
