A Little Symphony in F and More
Part of the Twilights series
Fri 3 Mar 2017
Derby Cathedral
About the Event
This event is promoted by Sinfonia Viva, Derby LIVE are pleased to act as a ticket agent.
The East Midlands only professional orchestra right on your doorstep and in the grandest of settings.
Known by Beethoven himself as ‘my little symphony in F’ Sinfonia Viva present his rarely played symphony alongside other masterpieces of musical bravado.
Considered by Beethoven to be better than his seventh symphony, Sinfonia Viva compliment Symphony No 8 with the ever popular Horn Concerto No.1 from Strauss, which has become the most frequently played horn concertos written in the 19th Century.
With all this alongside Haydn’s Symphony No. 90, this event will take place in the grand atmosphere of one of Derby’s most impressive and enduring spaces.
Drawn from the rich cannon of some of histories grandest composers, this is going to be an evening of power and stirring energy conducted by Sinfonia Viva’s Principal Conductor Duncan Ward.
