Starring Rosemary Ashe

Thu 9 Jul 2015

Location: Guildhall Theatre

Running Time: 1 hour 40 minutes - approximate, including any interval(s).

About the event

Rosemary Ashe, Olivier Award nominated star of London's West End, pays tribute to Ethel Merman, the legendary first lady of the musical comedy stage.

Belting out her songs with merry abandon, she helped electrify the Broadway musical.

Funny and touching by turns, Call Me Merman visits all of the Broadway star's biggest shows from the Gershwins’ Girl Crazy in 1931, which made her a star overnight, through to Styne and Sondheim’s Gypsy in the 1960s.

Rosie possesses a powerful delivery, recognised from so many of her own West End appearances including Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables and Mary Poppins.

She is accompanied by her Musical Director, Paul Knight.
