About the Event

If you’re curious about classical music or a seasoned fan, join us for an evening of toe tapping classics!
Sinfonia Viva are the East Midlands only professional Orchestra. The Orchestra has been nominated for a Grammy for their work with Damon Albarn which led to their inclusion on the Gorillaz album Plastic Beach in 2010. They have also recorded with soul music legend Bobby Womack.
Snappy and recognisable, these popular tunes from the classical canon will get your feet moving and your heat singing. Featuring a wonderful mixture of soulful, moving and energetic masterpieces, this performance will be full of rich colour and excitement.
Featuring music that is familiar from TV and film, the concert will also feature a piece by BBC6 Music favourite Anna Meredith and a new piece by Sinfonia Viva’s Principal Conductor and former BBC Young Composer of the Year Duncan Ward. With this mixture of high energy and extraordinary emotion, we know that our evocative and state of the art Cabinet of Curiosity venue will be the perfect way to enjoy this intoxicating performance.
This concert is part of the Cabinet of Curiosity tour, which features fantastic family friendly shows and wonderful local performers. The Orchestra will be concerted by Conductor Jessica Cottis throughout the tour.
This is the perfect show for families, music fans, lovers of performance and those with a curious mind for exploration.
