About the Event
After their sell-out production of Phantom of the Opera’ last year Derby Youth Musical Theatre return to the Guildhall for their fourth production.
Guys and Dolls tells the romantic story of New York gangsters, gamblers and nightclub singers and contains some of Broadway’s greatest show-stopping numbers, including Luck Be a Lady, Sit Down You’re Rocking the Boat, I’ve Never Been in Love Before and the exuberant title number Guys and Dolls.
With dazzling dance routines and a host of colourful characters, all performed by over thirty talented young people from 13 – 21 years of age drawn from all round the county, Guys and Dolls is a fun-filled show for all the family and will have you leaving the theatre with a smile on your face.
Guys and Dolls is a musical fable of Broadway based on a story and characters of Damon Runyon, music and lyrics by Frank Loesser and the book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows.
This amateur production is presented by arrangement with Josef Weinberger Ltd on behalf of Music Theatre International of New York.
