About the event

This event is promoted by Derby Concert Orchestra, Derby LIVE are pleased to act as a ticket agent.

Derby Concert Orchestra would like to welcome you to their Spring Concert in the beautiful 13th century parish church of St. Mary's in Wirksworth.  The programme starts with the magical Overture to Weber's opera Oberon, full of fairies and fantasy.  This is followed by a performance of Beethoven's violin concerto by the outstanding soloist Sophie Rosa, who always produces a beautiful combination of sensitivity and virtuosity.  Finally the ever popular and powerful 3rd Symphony from Brahms completes the programme.

Weber - Overture to Oberon

Beethoven - Violin Concerto in D

Soloist  Sophie Rosa

Brahms - Symphony No 3 in F major
