The Lost Boys - Rep Club

About the Event

The Lost Boys are entering the 9th year as a professional theatre company. In that time they have written, devised and produced many productions for both traditional and non traditional spaces, including street theatre. Their work has been seen at international festivals, across the UK and as far as Kenya.

They now wish to offer the chance for others who have an interest in creating theatre to come along and participate in workshops exploring different ways and methods of developing work for the stage and screen. Sessions are always a mix of practical underpinned by theory and are open to anyone 18 years and above. Drop in and or come to them all.

Session 1 - Back to basics. Building drama and making theatre. An introduction into what makes drama and creating work for the stage.

Session 2-  Devising 1. An introduction into Devising processes for the stage exploring a range of techniques and exercises that help generate work from scratch.

Session 3- Devising 2. Developing work from a stimulus. An exploration of creating and structuring new work from selected stimuli.

Session 4- Working with Text 1. A practical exploration of selected play extracts. Looking at interpretation of text.

Session 5- Working with Text 2. A more focused exploration of text in performance.
