About the Event
This brand new production brings the dramatic grandeur of ancient Egypt to the stage in Verdi’s classic love story brimming with war, jealousy and revenge.
"Visually and vocally gripping from start to finish" The Independant
"Bursting with colour, grandeur and wealth" Edinburgh Evening News
"Glittering opera is truly spectacular" Manchester Evening News
Directed by Ellen Kent, this magnificent traditional production with amazing special effects, stars international soloists and the Chisinau National Opera & Philharmonic.
Perhaps the most popular of all Verdi’s operas, Aida is the tragic story of the beautiful Ethiopian slave girl, Aida, and her love for the Egyptian hero, Radames.
With opulent sets and costumes, this traditional production is as stunning visually as it is musically, featuring some of the greatest pieces of music Verdi ever wrote, with the well known arias Celest Aida, Ritorna Vincitor and the great chorus piece the Triumphal March.
Sung in Italian with English surtitles.
