About the Event

Oddsocks’ Much Ado About Nothing is a high-octane musical version of Shakespeare’s battle of the sexes, featuring hits from the best music decades.

Soldiers Benedict, Claudio and Prince Don Pedro are on leave and knowing that WAR is good for absolutely nothing they prefer to party with the SINGLE LADIES Beatrice and Hero. MR BRIGHTSIDE Claudio, gets engaged to his young love Hero and just for fun, bachelor Benedick is tricked into falling for Beatrice and they start to show their TRUE COLOURS.

The romantic mood is broken by the Prince’s half brother, the CREEP Don John, who misleads Claudio with lies and deception and creates a TAINTED LOVE.

A dramatic confrontation at the wedding leaves Hero presumed dead and her bridesmaid Beatrice HOLDING OUT FOR A HERO. Benedict must show his love for Beatrice by challenging Claudio to a duel.

A dramatic conclusion awaits as the true villains are confronted, the deception is revealed and the lovers are reunited in a musical climax that will raise the roof and get everyone on their feet.

Country Platter - pork OR homity pie, salad, crusty bread, a wedge of Derbyshire cheese and a hot OR soft drink.

Meat Platter - BBQ ribs, chicken dippers, duck spring rolls, curly fries with 3 dips (bbq, sweet chilli, garlic mayo) and a hot OR soft drink.

Veggie Platter - onion bhaji, vegetable samosa, spicy corn fritter, spring roll with 3 dips (mango, yogurt, sweet & sour) and a hot OR soft drink.

11.5” thin crust Margherita or Pepperoni pizza, freshly baked on the premises.

Afternoon Tea - A meat or vegetarian snadwich, a slice of Victoria sponge and tea or coffee.

Cream Tea - A tea or coffee and a scone with cream and jam.

Parking

Parking is available at Markeaton Park in the following areas;

Main car park
Mundy Play Centre
New overflow car park near to the Craft Village
Mundy Play Centre overflow car park

Disabled parking is currently located down the side of the walled garden, near the Craft Village but there is a very limited amount of spaces. During Derby LIVE productions we may be allocate more disabled spaces - please get in touch with us for more information.
