The UK Holocaust Memorial Day 2021 ceremony will be streamed online at 7pm. This will be Holocaust Memorial Day Trust's first fully digital ceremony.

The ceremony will run from 7–8pm.

At 8pm, get ready to Light the Darkness with us. Households across the UK will be lighting candles and putting them in their windows to:

  • remember those who were murdered for who they were
  • stand against prejudice and hatred today

Light a candle and put it in your window at 8pm on 27 January 2021 (if you are able to do so safely).

Derby Cathedral service marking Holocaust Memorial Day 2021 in Derby

Holocaust Memorial Day 2021 is on Wednesday 27th January. This Service of Commemoration, Remembrance and Hope in Derby Cathedral marks the day with reflection and remembrance of those who have died in genocide throughout the world. The theme of the day is Be the Light in the Darkness. The service includes readings from Christian, Jewish and Islamic scripture, music sung by Derby Cathedral Choir, and an address by the Dean of Derby, the Very Revd Dr Peter Robinson.

Because of the present lockdown, this service will be recorded and streamed online at 6.00 pm on Wednesday 27th January on the Cathedral's YouTube channel
