Featuring Fairly Famous Family’s Just In Case & The Lost Boys
26 June, 2pm & 8pm
Location: The Market Place
Running Time: 45 minutes - approximate, including any interval(s).
To mark the opening of the Derby Market Place marquee, and in aid of the Mayor of Derby’s Charity Fund The Lost Boys & Fairly Famous Family will take you on a 45 minute rollercoaster cabaret ride of a lifetime!
Hosted by The Lost Boys as The Lost Boys - Derby's own double act, like a diet Ant and Dec, a cod Cook and Moore, a sugar free Sooty and Sweep, bringing you The Game of Life: Derby Edition (TM not to The Lost Boys!).
Fairly Famous Family’s ‘Just in Case’ is an all-action musical comedy thriller. Two sharp suited performers arrive with five mysterious flight cases. Inside each case is a new comedy adventure such as an unforgettable tribute to The Sound of Music, smashing plate manipulation, circus tricks and a juggling version of Hamlet. Formed in the mountains of the Lake District, Fairly Famous Family have been on quite a journey through the streets, festivals, and theatres of Europe and will now perform right here in Derby.
12 years ago The Lost Boys theatre company was born in Derby. Well known for their new comedy writing and street theatre, often seen in non-traditional spaces; they have created work for and performed in cinemas, abandoned factories, woodlands, pubs, stately homes, theatres and The Edinburgh Fringe.
Fairly Famous Family was formed in 1988 in the mountains of Lake District and nearly 30 years on, the company has been on quite a journey through the streets, festivals, theatres and service stations of the UK, Europe and beyond. All this experience has been used in the creation of a wide variety of comedy shows performed with their trademark enthusiasm, professionalism and work ethic. Based in the Ambleside hills they split their time between writing, devising and running over verdant mountainsides singing hits from the shows.
