About the event

The Ice Rink is back for 2022 as part of Festive Derby.

Nothing says Christmas more than a spin around an ice rink followed by a hot chocolate or mulled wine. Whether you’re looking for some festive family fun, a work’s Christmas party with a difference or an activity with friends, our ice rink is a great option.

Strut (or skate) your stuff on our real ice rink, covered to protect you from the elements, but with a viewing platform and windows so that spectators can join in the fun by relaxing amongst the twinkling lights and listening to the festive playlist.

Adults and children of all abilities can enjoy whizzing around on the ice in our hourly sessions, with prices including skate hire. Skate aids will be free to borrow and are available on a first come first served basis.

Age Guidance

Under 12s skaters must always be accompanied and supervised by an adult on the ice. 12 to 14 year olds must have a parent or guardian observing from the sides.

We strongly advise that all skaters taking part in the general skate sessions be over 5 years old however 4 year olds can go onto the ice during general skate sessions.

Toddler sessions are strictly for Under 5s and their parents or guardians.

Themed sessions

Our rink will play host to various themed sessions with hits from the 80s, 90s and 00s and dressing up is in order in our family superhero and fancy dress sessions, as well as a Christmas and New Year’s Eve party.

Accessibility

Skate aids will be free to borrow and are available on a first come first served basis. The Ice Rink is accessible for individuals who use a wheelchair.
